Does Bitcoin still use SHA-256?
I heard that there has been some progress in cracking SHA-256 hashes, with researchers successfully attacking 31-step SHA-256. Since Bitcoin uses SHA-256 for its addresses and mining, I'm wondering if Bitcoin is still secure with this hashing algorithm, or if there are plans to change it due to these new findings.
